Upgrading Your Plan
Upgrading your plan unlocks more features and higher limits immediately after payment confirmation — there’s no waiting period.
How to Upgrade
Section titled “How to Upgrade”-
Go to Settings → Billing
Click Settings in the sidebar, then select Billing.

Find the plan you want
You’ll see your current plan highlighted, with other plans showing an “Upgrade” button.

Click “Upgrade”
A confirmation dialog appears showing exactly what you’ll gain with the new plan and the price.

Enter your M-Pesa phone number
Enter the phone number registered with M-Pesa. Accepted formats:
0712345678,+254712345678, or254712345678. -
Approve the payment on your phone
You’ll receive an STK Push prompt on your phone from LedgerBuk. Enter your M-Pesa PIN to complete the payment.

Your plan upgrades instantly
Once payment is confirmed, your plan badge in the sidebar updates right away, and all new features are unlocked.
What Changes Immediately
Section titled “What Changes Immediately”When you upgrade:
- New features unlock instantly — reports, AI scans, CSV export, and other gated features become available
- Higher limits take effect — team member slots, transaction limits, and AI scan quotas increase
- Your sidebar badge updates — the plan badge changes from “Free” to “Pro” (or your new plan)
- No data is lost — all your existing entries, accounts, and settings stay exactly as they are

Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Is the upgrade prorated?
Section titled “Is the upgrade prorated?”No. Upgrades charge the full price and start a new 30-day billing period from the payment date. This is by design — it keeps billing simple and predictable.
Can I upgrade and then downgrade?
Section titled “Can I upgrade and then downgrade?”Yes. You can upgrade at any time and schedule a downgrade later. See Billing & Downgrades for details on how downgrades work.
What if the M-Pesa prompt doesn’t arrive?
Section titled “What if the M-Pesa prompt doesn’t arrive?”LedgerBuk checks the payment status automatically after about 30 seconds. If the request timed out or your phone was unreachable, you’ll see a message and can try again.
What if I upgraded by mistake?
Section titled “What if I upgraded by mistake?”Contact support. Since upgrades take immediate effect, a downgrade can be scheduled to take effect at the end of your billing period. See Billing & Downgrades.
What happens if my subscription expires?
Section titled “What happens if my subscription expires?”If you don’t renew before the billing period ends, there’s a 7-day grace period. See Subscription Expiry & Renewal for the full timeline.
