Expert Mode — Compound Entry

Create a compound journal entry — such as a salary payment with tax withholding — using expert mode’s full debit/credit form.

  1. Open Journal Entries

    Navigate to Journal Entries from the sidebar.

  2. Switch to Expert Mode

    Toggle from simple mode to expert mode for full control over debit and credit lines.

  3. Add Debit Lines

    Add one or more debit entries — select the account, enter the amount, and add a description for each line.

  4. Add Credit Lines

    Add corresponding credit entries. The running total shows whether your entry is balanced.

  5. Balance the Entry

    Ensure total debits equal total credits. LedgerBuk validates this before allowing you to post.

  6. Post the Entry

    Click Post Entry to save the compound transaction.

  7. View Entry Details

    Open the posted entry to see all individual line items, accounts, and amounts.
